    Beautiful atmosphere! The food was delicious. Our favorites were the peach pie and the breakfast potatoes/ hash browns. The service was good and it was cool to be able to see into the kitchen area. We will be back!

    Omgosh this is going to be our new go-to for special occasions or when we just want to indulge ourselves! I heard about Rye in a Facebook group--it was being recommended to someone searching for chef-inspired restaurants with truly delicious food. I was surprised to find a same-day reservation available but discovered it is a pretty big place. It has a kind of rustic yet elegant atmosphere and our server was great, though quite slow to bring us the check, which was a little bit of a downer. However the food was absolutely phenomenal. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. Every. Single. Thing. We had the gnocchi for an appetizer and it was divine, my husband ordered the pasta, I had a steak, and we finished with blueberry and peach pie. It is a little pricey but it is quality and we will 100% be back! We want to try everything on the menu!!

    You can't go home again or can you? We revisited a tradition of enjoying significant dates with dinner at Rye. Never have we been disappointed. Usually it was Christmas Eve but tonight an anniversary. My standard shrimp and grits with brisket was as usual fantastic. Much different because the brisket and broth make it so much more rich. Her wedge salad included grated egg adding a nice complement to the bacon and dressing. The Kansas City strip (no stockyards in NY) was cooked perfectly. I know because I snuck a bite while she was tasting her Bonanza Cabernet. The side of creamed spinach with leeks and almond slivers was something we plan to try at home. It will never match the flavor but still going to try. Dessert was banana cream pie for me and homemade vanilla ice cream for her. Snuck another bite, wow! Our server was attentive to the perfect degree. She was assisted by runners bringing the dishes out. They warned us the spinach dish was nuclear hot. Neither had to ask which one had which dish. A small thing but it should always be that way. At Rye it is. The space is beautiful and perfectly designed for classy home cooking. It is also loud. Everything here is exactly as these two James Beard award chefs want it to be and I'm sure this is a conscious decision. Whether you live in the area or are visiting, Rye deserves a visit. So take a break from all the wonderful local barbecue and enjoy some home cooking.

    What a lovely place! My dining companion, and I had a wonderful lunch here on a Thursday in the spring and it was delightful. Our server never gave us her name, but she was lovely. The ambience here is very fine and the food was just delicious! I would recommend Rye anyone. We both had the fried chicken salad to which they had recently added strawberries, in addition to the goat cheese, rhubarb, and spinach. it was lovely as worthy free range deviled eggs. I will be back and I will bring my wife. Delightful!
